Going with a open filter system means that the airbox gets removed. One of the good things that the airbox did was reject radiant heat. Its out of the way for servicing the engine and while helping to keep things cool.
NOTE: Picture shows the gromets in place, they are NOT included in the shield part. You will need to source them from a OE airbox, perhaps the one that you just removed. Some fine tuning of the large holes may be necessary depending on the application. If you need gromets and don't have the OE parts, contact us and we can help get you the parts.
